School Placement! Deadlines are Looming! What should you consider?

Several of my clients are going through the school placement and acceptance process and I want to take this opportunity to send out a few helpful reminders for all of my readers who may soon go through the same process, or who might know parents facing the school placement process. This will be the first blog of the “School Placement” series and I hope that you get the information you need. If you do not, please call me directly at 305.423.7575 so that I can help you, and your child.

As I talk to my clients about private school placement, there are so many factors to take into consideration. The process is very detailed and what you put into the process will determine the future academic success of your child. Do not fret however! Take a quick look at this list of “things to do” as you embark on the private school placement and acceptance journey:

1. Do your research or we can assist and provide a Full Service Approach

a. There are over 400 private schools in Miami-Dade County, so you need to

narrow your search. You need to determine whether you are looking for

secular or non-secular schools.

2. Schedule a tour with AzulEd, LLC

a. Call us in advance, or we can schedule a private tour the school of your

choice, plus attend with you to facilitate the process.

3. Tuition

a. Inquire about hidden fees.

b. Does tuition include meals? Transportation? School supplies?

4. Technology

a. How does the school incorporate technology? Is it a learning tool or a

distraction?

5. Diversity

a. What is the student population make-up? Inquire about representation.

6. Student’s interests

a. Does the school offer extra-curricular activities that interest your child?

Tutoring?

7. Special Education Services and accommodations? Gifted/Advanced Placement?

a. Will this learning environment meet your parenting needs and the goals you have for your child?

I hope that this list has given you a glimpse into what you should be doing as your gear up for your child’s new academic journey. This will be one of the most important investments that you make for your child, and I know that you want it to be made based on the best information.
